There are other women around, figuratively playing secretaries, journalists or minor roles but without interacting with each other.

Marie, the lead, interacts with both Kate, a co-worker and her friend Rita. Rita begins to leave a party and Marie talks with her about Marie's life choices and alcoholism, nothing about a guy. It passes.

Marie has a comment with her female friend (who does have a name in the movie, I am just blanking on it) in a sailboat about her potential PTSD, and recommends that she seek treatment for her flashbacks. Because of this Marie checks herself into treatment. This is not a conversation about a man, nor relationships.
