This excellent Icelandic film focuses on two women, Lara & Adja. Lara’s a single mother struggling financially. Adja is from Guinea Bissau, caught in Iceland using a forged passport to seek asylum in Canada. Lara & Adja cross paths in surprising ways. Their conversations focus on many things, men being the least of all as they navigate their difficulties with growing interdependence, support, and intimacy.
