The protagonist's sister Libby tells her mother Ida that she's finished her chores, and her mother congratulates her. Then Ida starts talking to Libby's brother instead, and the exchange is over. It's the narrowest possible Bechdel success; the majority of named characters in this film are male, with one token female for any group of dinosaurs, generally with no characteristics other than "the female one." Ida is the only female character in the film who has a personality, and that personality is pretty much "Mom." A real disappointment after all the nuanced female characters in <I>Inside Out</i>.
