Two main female characters, Quinn and Elise, who discuss plot-relevant things (ie. the dead mother Quinn and the entity that is attacking Quinn).

I agree, this movie definitely passed. I would like to add that it's not only leaded by two females, but one of them, Elise (Lyn Shaye) is 71 years old.
Pretty rare to see strong female characters above 40, so cheers for showing women can be badass even if they aren't in their 20's wearing a skin tight outfit.
