During the clove eating test Annie and Pearline argue over whether it matters if a cloves taste is important.

Mary and Annie I think talk about being family but I might be wrong.

The "family" line re: Mary and Annie doesn't count; the vampires ask what Mary is doing in the juke and Annie says she's family.

However, the garlic scene is a pass. So is a brief exchange early in the night between Grace and Mary, where they greet each other by name and Mary orders a drink.

Also there is a scene that passes where Mary and Grace briefly interact when Mary first comes into the juke joint - she addresses Grace by name and orders drinks. Sammie is right next to them but they exchange a few lines of dialogue without him chiming in.
