There are at least two named female characters: Sakura (main character) and her friend Kyoko. They mostly talk about boys, but they do exchange a (very) few dialogue lines about being in the hospital and their friendship. Sakura also talks to her mother about dying, but her mother is not named, and is only addressed to as 'mother'.
